Who is behind Luxus-Tiger
About me
My name is Tobias Adam. I am the founder of Luxus-Tiger Naturkratzbäume. I discovered my love of working with wood at a young age. Even as a little boy, I carved in my dad’s workshop and later also turned wood.
Artist meets technician.
In my teenage years, I added model making and my great passion for drawing. In 1998 I dared to make my first sculptures and quickly found out that my model making experience and the handling of glass fiber and wood were very helpful. About 3 years later I started to work with carbon fiber. This also gave rise to the idea of making interiors from carbon and wood. appeArt – Carbon Wood Design Products was launched in 2015. At the end of 2016, our natural scratching posts followed with Luxus-Tiger.
The emergence of Luxus-Tiger
Our head designer is Mother Nature.
When our two cats Bambam and Zoey moved in with us, we naturally had to buy a scratching post. And as with many of my customers, this scratching post turned out not to be particularly stable. A long-term climbing solution was therefore needed. And so it was that I built the first natural scratching post for our two furry friends. After the first inquiries from friends and acquaintances, it wasn’t long before I launched my own website.
My motivation
Experiencing the creation of a new scratching post from a “simple” piece of wood with all its facets is simply great fun. Seeing the finished result with the final touchesDue to the many options I can now offer, my work is so varied that it never gets monotonous. Woodworking, processing the natural stone slabs and sewing the supports for the sunbathing areas are just some of my tasks. Because planning comes before these tasks.
The personal conversation with my customers, the consultation and conception. These are all building blocks without which this craft would not be complete for me. All of this combined has become my great passion.
