“Your scratching post is a piece of furniture that you see every day.”

The natural scratching post – a paradise for your cat

Why a natural scratching post?

Stable, durable and a very appealing look. These are just some of the many advantages you get with a luxury Tiger natural scratching post. Whether Main Coon, Bengal or domestic cat. Cats have a pronounced urge to move and love the view from exposed places. In the great outdoors, our four-legged climbing artists like to look for a vantage point on trees and other exposed areas. So it makes sense to use natural wood for our cat trees too.

The materials for our natural scratching posts

The use of natural wood is clearly our priority. No trees are felled for our scratching posts. We only use wood that is no longer used in normal forestry. This means that parts from lofty heights – the treetops – very often find their way into our workshop. Our raw logs are dried naturally in the fresh air after the bark has been removed. Depending on the type of wood and the diameter of the trunk, this can take one to two years. As with all natural wood, insects live on the raw logs we use. Before the production of your new natural scratching post, all logs are therefore thermally treated against possible insect infestation.

In addition to the natural wood for the logs themselves, we also offer you a wide selection of color combinations for the base plate and lying surfaces. You also have a choice of different materials and designs for the design of the lying surfaces and sleeping areas. You can find more details on our information page for custom-made scratching posts or directly on our information page for customization options.

The design and concept of your new scratching post made of natural wood

Our aim is always to produce a scratching post that is perfectly suited to your cats. However, as this will usually be placed centrally and clearly visible in your living area, an appealing design should of course not be neglected. And so we have also dedicated ourselves to the individual production of natural scratching posts. It is not just the location of each scratching post that is different. The character and needs of each cat and its personal taste are also factors that we take into account when planning.

The planning

This means that communication with you – our customers – in the planning phase is also a clear priority. You know your cats better than anyone else. We discuss the key data with you, such as the number of lying surfaces, the size of the scratching post and many more of our customization options. We then create an initial design sketch and a corresponding quotation. This design sketch forms the basis for the further planning of your new natural scratching post. Only when you are satisfied with the final design sketch do we move on to the workshop for production.

The design

In principle, we are completely free in the design of your natural scratching post. Your wishes and the needs of your cat form the basic framework for the creative development of a scratching post design. Our aim is always to achieve a harmonious overall look. Unless otherwise requested by you, we only use as much sisal rope as makes sense for climbing. The sisal should provide your cat with places where it can find a particularly good grip. As much of the wood as possible should remain visible.

In the lower area of the scratching post, on the other hand, we always recommend lining a larger area with sisal as this area is also mainly used for sharpening claws. We will determine the type of lying surface, steps and base plates together with you. The exact position and size of the individual steps will only be determined once the sleeping areas have been installed. We offer further options such as lighting embedded in the base plate for all materials. We also manufacture the play ropes for your cat ourselves, which gives us a lot of freedom when it comes to the attachment points. Sisal nets spliced directly into the wood also make great lying areas and round off the overall look.

The natural scratching post for large cats – also perfect for your Maine Coon

Not only Maine Coon owners know how important a really stable scratching post is. With a weight of over 10 kg in some cases, these gentle giants also place certain demands on their cat tree. But temperamental cats or “chases” by their cats can also cause some conventional scratching posts to sway quickly or even fall over.

As we work exclusively with solid wood and also offer base plates made of natural stone in addition to our extremely robust beech wood multiplex plates, a stable stand is always guaranteed due to the high dead weight. Because screw connections are often a weak point in the long term and tend to loosen under load, we also manufacture our large ceiling-high scratching posts “in one piece”.

We use 10mm sisal rope as standard, which we use on all natural scratching posts and wall climbing systems. We also offer 12mm sisal on request. Especially in the lower part of the trunk, which is often used for scratching, this thicker rope offers longer-lasting scratching fun for your house cat.
